Chiropractic and Mental Health: Addictionology
It is my passion and mission to revive the likes of “Clear View Sanitarium,” Chiropractics most renowned and famous psychiatric hospital (1926-1961), a manifestation of Dr. Baker, Dr. Quigley, and Dr. B.J. Palmer. Cases of schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and depression were all treated with incredible results.
Clear View Sanitarium
One of the most fascinating and little-known aspects of chiropractic hospitalization was the existence of several sanitariums for mental disorders. One of the most prominent, which existed from 1926 through 1961, was located in the birthplace of chiropractic on the outskirts of Davenport, Iowa. The cases consisted of approximately 65% schizophrenia, 15% manic-depressive, and 20% other nervous and mental disorders.
The results were considered to be highly satisfactory across the range of the nervous and mental disorders which were treated there.
